I backup every hour and delete after a few days. I do a full backup with media every few days.

I also have my PC (Windows) set to backup the 'Gramps Backup' directory I have set up, to backup to the Windows 'One Drive'. Don't know if you have similar option in Linux.

These are backup files of your database (excludinging media files). If you ever have a problem, like a computer crash, the last file created would a much needed file to recreate your tree..

I move these files to a thumb drive away from the hard drive. I keep about a month worth of the files and delete the older files.

On the Family Tree tab in your Preferences (menu >> Edit >> Preferences) you can turn this option off.
