I backup every hour and delete after a few days. I do a full backup with media every few days. I also have my PC (Windows) set to backup the 'Gramps Backup' directory I have set up, to backup to the Windows 'One Drive'. Don't know if you have similar option in Linux. If you ever have a problem, like a computer crash, the last file created would a much needed file to recreate your tree.. I move these files to a thumb drive away from the hard drive. I keep about a month worth of the files and delete the older files. On the Family Tree tab in your Preferences (menu >> Edit >> Preferences) you can turn this option off.
