Thats not the point. The point is that inside the site the directory structure is very weird because most of individuals files are in the root not in subdirectories. I tjink that is not very elegant way to organize files. But if no one cannot fix it so JN -----Alkuperäinen viesti----- Lähettäjä: Charles Dennett <[email protected]> Lähetetty: torstai 3. huhtikuuta 2025 0.00 Vastaanottaja: [email protected] Aihe: Re: [Gramps-users] Narrative Web publishing On 4/2/25 4:32 PM, Jouko Norvapalo wrote: > I'm building a narrative web site from my data, but the result is very uglu, because in the site individuals an family pages is located in the web root, why is that. Logically is normal that those are in own directories. That appeared after I installalle 6.0.0. Can somebody do somethind about it?? I've had a gramps website on my home Linux server. You can see it at https://www.dennett.org. I use apache and the server runs Fedora. There is no definition of anything called webroot in the apache config. However, there is a DocumentRoot and that is set to /home/www/html. If you go the to url I mentioned above, you will actually get served the file /home/www/html/index.html (which actually redirects you to /home/www/html/genealogy/index.html via a meta tag). So, in gramps I specifiy the narrative web destination to /home/www/html/genealogy and let gramps put files and directories there. It seems well organized to me. I also play some tricks with server side includes so the home page is customized to my liking. I think I also do the same with page footers. I'm not at my server at the moment so I'm using my memory on how I set it up way back when I started.
