One way would be to plot circles filled with red, then the same circles filled with the background colour but with a smaller diameter -- the difference in diameter giving the line thickness of the outer boundary. Of course 'filling with the background colour' means that this will need to a a 'bottom layer' of the plot, and it looks to me that this is not what your map needs. Jim -- J.J.
