Masking parts of the data

Hi,

I would like to mask part of an image using a different xyz file than the
one I am using to create the image. The issue I have is that I also need to
refine the image using surface, however, I cannot resample the masking
file, due to the nature of the data. Is there a way to apply the mask first
(with the original sampling, which is the same in both files) and only
afterwards apply surface?
The output of psmask is post script.
