Well, that is certainly 100% expected behavior. Longitudes are periodic = coordinates whereas a Cartesian projection assumes linear coordinates. If you want to tell GMT that your data are in fact periodic but still = want to plot using a non-geographic scaling then you need to add "d" to = your x-scale, i.e. -JX17cd/8.5c. -p On Jul 31, 2014, at 4:51 AM, Chenjian Fu <[email protected]> wrote: > Thanks! >=20 > If use a non-geographical projection, e.g. -JX, and a > non-0/360-domain, e.g. -R-180/180/-90/90: >=20 > gmt psxy -JX17c/8.5c -R-180/180/-90/90 > '/cygdrive/c/data/PB2002/PB2002_boundaries.gmt' -W0.5p,red -Sf0.25/3p > -Gred -Ba30 > out.ps >=20 > There are symbols being plotted across the entire longitudinal domain. > See attached ps/pdf files. >=20 > GMT5 r13399. >=20 > -cj >=20 > On Thu, Jul 31, 2014 at 4:11 AM, Christian Heine > <[email protected]> wrote: >> Paul, >>=20 >> as usual - thanks for the quick fix! >>=20 >> cj, thanks for pointing this out. >>=20 >>=20 >> Greetings from the lowlands, >> Christian >>=20 >> On 31 Jul 2014, at 4:48 am, Paul Wessel <[email protected]> wrote: >>=20 >>> Fixed in r13399 >>> -p >>>=20 >>> On Jul 30, 2014, at 2:49 PM, Paul Wessel <[email protected]> wrote: >>>=20 >>>> Oops, just noticed that - will have a look. >>>> -p >>>>=20 >>>> On Jul 30, 2014, at 2:17 PM, cj <[email protected]> wrote: >>>>=20 >>>>> Hi, >>>>>=20 >>>>> Just fyi, that, "there are some stray fault symbols being plotted = on the left side of the map beyond the map boundaries, see attached = PS/PDF file" Christian mentioned, still happens in r13394. >>>>>=20 >>>>> -cj >>>>>=20 >>>>> On Jul 30, 2014, at 6:40 PM, Paul Wessel <[email protected]> = wrote: >>>>>=20 >>>>>> Hi Christian- >>>>>>=20 >>>>>> OK, fixed in r13394.
