This would be really nice to do if Adobe actually bothered parsing the =
PS comments available for layering (e.g., GMT/pslib already writes =
things like %%BeginObject PSL_Layer_1).  But they dont give a s*** and =
never have; this goes back decades.  So I think the best you can do is =
to make separate PDFs for various layers and append them in Illustrator =
as layers there. =20
