Then there will be three panel krells showing memory usage (where 'v' indicates a krell): | used v buffers v cache v raw free | When I debug use your "Mem:" line above I get the third raw free krell at about half way so it looks OK to me and the code does use 64 bit ints. With only one krell you just see the calculated free - see the README.
