Issues with gkrellm-uguru and gkrellm-hddtemp

I'm running version 2.2.9 of gkrellm as provided from the Fedora Core
distro. I'm having issues with both gkrellm-uguru and
gkrellm-hddtemp.

gkrellm-ugur:

- Downloaded via the Gkrellm Plugins page on members.dslextreme.com.
Extracted and installed the shared object module in
/usr/lib/gkrellm2/plugins where all the other plugins had been placed by
pirut. Restarted gkrellm as a non-root user and opened the configuration
window. Went to the plugins and selected ugurup2. Gkrellm immediately
dies with the message "gkrellm segmentation fault: ugurup2
(create_monitor)".

- While preparing this message I accidentally started gkrellm as the
root user. I proceeded to try adding ugurup2 in order to generate the
segmentation fault again, only it didn't fault. Instead the krell was
successfully added. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be functioning as
all readings are zero. I know that readings are available as I'm able to
display them using the oguru utility. My motherboard is an ABIT AN8 32X.

- Questions: Is there a way to get this plug-in working without running
as root? How do I proceed troubleshooting the zero values?

gkrellm-hddtemp:

- Installed current version available from the Fedora Extras repository
via pirut. (gkrellm-hddtemp-0.2-0.5.beta.fc5.i386)

- With hddtemp executing, attempt to add this plug-in as either a root
or non-root user. An area with no text is added to the display, while two
instances of the following message are output on the terminal window the
gkrellm session was started on:

(gkrellm:5565): Pango-CRITICAL **: pango_layout_set_text: assertion
`length == 0 || text != NULL' failed

The boundries of the display are not properly updated,
so some existing krells become hidden.

- Observations: "text != NULL" seems an odd assertion when
trying to layout text. Is the code bad or the assertion?

- Questions: Is there a newer/better/fixed version available? If so,
where? Attempted to download the version from the GKrellm Plugins page,
but encountered a broken link.
