I'm doing something similar. I have 5 windows setup and load one webcam 
image, the next 3 are local weather images, and the last is a national 
weather image. I've been using these particular images for many years. 
All are set to update every 3 minutes.

Same here, all are images as displayed on web pages for the devices, not 
a stream.

I don't think there is anything going on with the sources. I still have 
several old Mandriva 2007.1 installations going and all use the same 
setup. These have Gkrellm 2.2.9. None of them have the issue with 
displaying the images as scheduled, either updating, or displaying them 
in Gkrellm. My installs of later Mandriva are all 32-bit. I can have 
them going side by side and the newer Gkrellm versions do not update or 
display reliably.

When the images come up in Gkrellm as gray and blank, a click inside the 
image opens the actual image in the external viewer. In this case 
Gkrellm correctly downloaded the image, just wouldn't display it inside 
the Gkrellm app. Other times, the images don't update as they should. 
Even if you center click in the image window in Gkrellm to force one. 
Sometimes this center click does force an update. Other times, a relog 
and the app comes up and refreshes the image, but it won't reliably keep 
refreshing it and displaying it like the older version of Gkrellm does. 
The old version worked flawlessly over the years. I never had problems.

No, I understand that. And that's  not it at all. In this case, the 
refresh isn't happening. I can tell because all of the images have a 
time stamp on them. So I can see the age of the image, check it against 
the web page that I'm grabbing the image from, or against older Gkrellm 
installations on older Mandriva releases.

I'll definitely take a look at that. But the settings I have now are the 
same ones, exactly, that I'm using and have used over the years. And a 
forced update fails to work too.

I remember reading (I think it was with 2.3.1) about a change to the 
plugin interface in Gkrellm. I don't know if this has anything to do 
with what I am seeing or not. I do know that several other distros are 
seeing the same issue, and it all happened after the update to the 2.3.1 
version of Gkrellm. Not sure if that is a change somewhere else in the 
various distros that happened at or around the same time, or something 
with Gkrellm. I suppose I could always grab a SRPM for the old 2.2.9 
version of Gkrellm and rebuild that against Mandriva 2008.1 and see if 
that changes anything.

I appreciate the advice and any ideas are most appreciated.
