Hey GKrellM guys,

     I have a stupid question. I'm not a developer
or a C/C++ coder, so go easy on me with this one.

Does the Win32 version of GKrellM install a copy
of the Ms. Visual C++ Runtime 2008 Redistributable
when its installer runs? I'm thinking that the answer
is _NO_ since I haven't seen a mention of this on the
FAQ, gmane.comp.gnome.apps.gkrellm, old developer
tickets, etc.

I have had niggling difficulties with GKrellM-2.3.2
for Win32 crashing with the message "GKrellM has
requested that Ms. Vis. C++ Runtime terminate it in an
unnatural way", or something like that. This may be
attributable to me ripping out and tossing Ms.NET and
Ms. Visual Studio from my institutional machine; and
probably has nothing to do with GKrellM-Win32. I admit
that I was not being thoroughly organized when I removed
all of that software. I just wanted to eliminate
useless disk-hogs from my personal space.

Nonetheless, if you guys tell me that _YES_: GKrellM
uses that runtime, then of course I _will_ change my
behavior, and stop un-installing Ms. Vis. C++ Runtime
Redistributable every time I look at the AppWiz.cpl
on this computer. My most recent attempt to work
around this problem has been to acquire and install
the GKrellM-2.3.4-b1 for Win32. It has not crashed
yet (about ninety minutes), and so perhaps my problem
has evaporated.

Thanks for your attention,

George gbarrick_at_walsh_dot_edu
