Using those options you *should* be able to get GKrellM to look like a
normal window, so I'm surprised that doesn't work, but it's possible
your window manager is treating GKrellM specially for some reason.  I
assume you've restarted GKrellM after each change, as it recommends to
on that settings page?

GKrellM (at least on my machine) seems to resist being pushed past the
edge of the screen.  Perhaps your window manager reports the screen
size as being smaller than it is (to allow room for the panel), and
GKrellM is trying not to get moved off the edge of the screen?  I can
still push GKrellM past the edge if I move it far enough, then I can
drag it back again to where I want it, so I'm not sure if that will
work for you.  I imagine it won't return to this position when you next
launch GKrellM though.  I'm not sure if this snapping feature can be
disabled or not.

While I can't offer help with xprop (not familiar enough with it), if
you use xprop and compare the GKrellM window against another window
that behaves the way you wish, it may provide some hints about what the
difference is.  xprop's output isn't always so easy to understand
though.

You might have better luck asking on your distro's forums as they will
likely be more familiar with how the window manager works.
