It is not clear what happened, and thus, it's not clear if the problem is specific to GnuCash or something in the OS, or some other problem, such as a hardware failure. The most important step: STEP 1: Backup all of your data (or at least what you believe is important) https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Backup Step 2: If you were using GnuCash 5 (a recent version), then just install the latest 5.16. If you are using a very old version, such as one of version 2, then there would be an upgrade path to ensure your data file is updated. If the above does not work, please report back specific problems, and then we can move forward from there.
