Try a Transaction Report. Select only that expense account in Options > Accounts tab I can't bring up my instance at the moment, but I *think* in the Options > Accounts tab there is a 'filter' section after the main accounts selection. If so, select only the credit card account there. If not, in the Display tab, set it to show the 'other account name' so at least you can see the info on the report. If you don't get results for the desired date window, set the date window from the beginning of the book until perhaps end of 2026. If you still don't get results, filter by more than one credit card if you have one. If that still doesn't work, then remove the filters, show all transactions for the expense account displaying 'other' account name and just wade through them. You likely have a data entry error somewhere that your filtering is preventing you from seeing them. Then I clicked on the related link and it showed me the expenses in the account, but from the beginning of time (at least from when I started using Gnucash in 2015). > > Thank You, > > Gyle McCollam > > Gyle McCollam > > [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> email > > ________________________________ > From: Kalpesh Patel <[email protected]> > Sent: Thursday, August 27, 2026 6:00 AM > To: 'Gyle McCollam' <[email protected]>; 'gnucash-user' <[email protected]> > Subject: RE: [GNC] Problem with "Find" > > > Reverse the workflow. Open "Doctors & Dentists" register, and perform find to the Credit Card account first. Then as a second stage refinement add dates. See if that shows. If it doesn’t show then most likely those transactions have incorrect contra leg. In that case review of each every transactions will be needed to hunt it down. Alternate I can think of is to generate an Income and expense report with those accounts and dates to see if they are there. > > > > From: Gyle McCollam <[email protected]> > Sent: Wednesday, August 26, 2026 11:35 PM > To: Kalpesh Patel <[email protected]>; 'gnucash-user' <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [GNC] Problem with "Find" > > > > Thanks, I tried 'New Search' for just the account, but it still returns nothing. > > > > Thank You, > > Gyle McCollam > > Gyle McCollam > > [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> email > > ________________________________ > > From: Kalpesh Patel <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> > Sent: Wednesday, August 26, 2026 4:49 PM > To: 'Gyle McCollam' <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; 'gnucash-user' <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> > Subject: RE: [GNC] Problem with "Find" > > > > Only thing to watch out is that make sure that you select 'Type of search' > to 'New search' when updating/modifying the search criteria as default > selection is to refine the search, otherwise those transaction are not > assigned to "Doctors & Dentists" anymore. > > I suggest take two steps approach ... first find all transaction from credit > card account that are assigned to "Doctors & Dentists" and then refine it to > be between dates in the second step refinement. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Gyle McCollam <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> > Sent: Tuesday, August 25, 2026 12:34 PM > To: gnucash-user <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> > Subject: [GNC] Problem with "Find" > > I tried to "Find" transactions in my credit card account that were charged > to the expense account "Doctors & Dentists" between the dates 07/22/2026 & > 08/24/2026.
