OK, the patch got rid of the window manager frame, which is good. Now it works
perfectly on my second monitor, but it still has a problem on the first.
The window is offset from the left edge of my first monitor, and the offset
changes if I switch back and forth from fullscreen to normal. It moves left
about 20 pixels each time I go back to full screen.

Hmm, I think I have a clue, let me see if I can explain my setup.
I have 2 physical monitors, Left and Right. I have an nvidia card with
twinview and the following option in my XF86Config file:

    Option "TwinViewOrientation" "LeftOf"

So this means that the Right monitor is monitor 1 and the Left is monitor 2,
the opposite of the default.

I don't even know how gqview would know about that, but I thought I'd point it
out. I'll try switching it and see if I still get the problem.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to avoid using an OverrideRedirect for
the full screen window? Is that how the old version worked? Did it cause
problems somewhere?
