Scale image to screen

Hi.
I'm a new gqview user. I'm used to qiv but since I need an image viewer
capable of receiving lirc commands I'm trying gqview instead (using
Matteo Beniamino's excellent patch). Anyway, there is one thing I really
miss: Scaling images down so that they fit on the screen (like qiv's -t
option). Is this possible with gqview, and if so how? A slide show in
fullscreen isn't very useful if you only see a little piece of the
pictures...
