That is true, I did not realize that this was a requirement.

I have this turned on always, does not help much.

Here is the problem I have; once in a while, I scarf a bunch
of pictures from some newsgroups using Pan.  I go through 
a first pass with a slide show to figure out if any 
are worth keeping.  In order to save time, I typically
set the slideshow period to 2 seconds. 

Now, some of the images will be small, and they will get
rendered fast; the larger ones take more than 2  seconds
on my machine, and by the time the image is half-rendered,
the next one starts getting rendered.

Now, I can of course increase the period to about 5 seconds,
but then the entire thing takes far longer than it should.

I   realize now that there are other requirements on
the slideshow. Anyway, if there can be an option to 
start the next image after the first one has been fully
displayed, I will appreciate it.
