Yes, I tried that, but it just does not work, and the file
is regenerated back to the original (perhaps both things are
related). I use gqview 2.1.4. Could be a version problem?

Without trying to compare 'gqview' with a less capable browser,
please take a look on how 'gthumb' handles this.
Still, not complete to me because it does not show anyway the
full path of the files.
