Well, just to put two more cents in the box.
I was actually used to ACDsee when I used Windows so I would be happy to 
find the same function.
And, for the "try 'f' to toggle back and forth" suggestion, yes, I use 
this, but when scrolling among thumbnails using the mouse and its wheel, 
you have to toggle back and forth from mouse to keyboard to do this, 
which I find painful :-)
