I have been using gqview in a semi-automatic launch from another program (a script I use to locate particular icons). I only just recently noticed that GQview you can open new windows each listing a different directory. Though it also adds another image viewing window, even when the directories are 'detached'. Some problems however should be very easilly solvable.... First you can not open up the two directoryies from the command line Second you can not open extra directories (or do anything else) by remote control. That is by control from some other program that is locating and finding particular images. And Third... It would be nice if you can open a new direction listing window WITHOUT haveing to have another standard image viewing window, just for that directory. One window is plenty and if I want to see two images side by side I can always open a separate 'view this image' window. As a side issue, it would be nice if when looking at a directory in 'icon' mode. The directory view, used multiple columns. So much wasted space, when only one column is used on a wide window.
