Gqview suggestions

Hi all,

First I would like thank John for his gqview. Among a lot of image
viewers available for Linux nowdays, it became my favourite one. However.
it would be somehow strange if I don't have any hint how improve the
program or what feature I would like to see. Here we go ...

1. Options dialog
A little fine tuning only:

    The "Apply" button should be active only if I have changed one of
    the settings. If no change - just browsing through the settings -
    the button should be deactivated / shaded.

2. Slideshow (I use it in full screen mode with black background)
Here I see more space for improvements, suggestions are:

    The presentation of the pix in the slide show follows the order given
    by the file names, right ? This is not always desirable since I would
    like to show the pix in another arbitrary, but of course predefined
    order. Ordering the pictures by drag & drop in the thumbnail window
    would be an idea. Or somehow in the sort manager. The choosen order
    should be preserved, e.g. in the "Gqview.meta" file.
    Well, the existing repeat and random options could remain as they are.

    In a slide show the ratio between the image and the frame around is
    important for a pleasant presentation. Right now gqview has "Zoom
    1:1" and "Zoom fit". Here it would be desirable to have a user
    defined setting in percentage via dialog, which is valid for the
    slide show as well.

    Smooth transition between pix. Time should be adjustable.

    The comment from the meta data could be displayed below the picture
    as a little caption (left, right, center, font, color adjustable).

    Given a greater amount of settings for the slideshow, this could be
    moved to a separate tab in the "Options" settings.

Especially arbitrary ordering of the images for a slideshow is a feature
what I couldn't find in any of the tested image viewers. Or have I
missed something ?
