I don't use the google lists so they have no value to me.

That being said, I do appreciate the new release announcement emails on
the projects I closely follow the development of. Sadly, keeping up with
the latest mc release fell by the wayside during the last few years (A
big part of the reason was my PC was broken. It's a long story.)
