Welcome, Ralf! I first found mc back in 1996 shortly after my first Slackware installation. I'd never used nor seen Norton Commander so mc was all new to me. Since then it is usually the first package I install on a new system. I can't say I've mastered all that much of it but is so useful to me that it's not unusual for me to have several terminal windows open that have an mc instance running! Sometimes I find a have a couple already running but stopped in the same terminal... I am very much a happy user even though I've traded mcedit for vim. - Nate -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist fears this is true."
