I was thinking of a solution that can be of interest: what
about a list of resources, say on the right side of the
gantt chart, where you can drag a resource from, and drop
it on a task.

I don't know if it's easy to do, but it sounds like rather
easy to use. Another good point can be to highlight the
tasks assigned to a resource when the resource is selected.

By the way, as this would give a rather large window at the
end, this part should be removable (or reduced).
