Hi,

I agree with you that some function to resolve resource
conflicts using the existing task priority would be very useful.
It's a lot of work to change all later tasks manually if you have to
replan an early task.

To allow overlapping of tasks you can just assign a resource 
to less than 100%. Ok, it's not so fancy as your proposal with
an automated adaption of time commitment, but also less complexity.
