I can see it is not easy to implement. But one could leave it to the
user to define the day/hour "ratio".

It would be if I could choose a different ratio.

I usually use the Gatt diagram, and the work just keeps increasing if I
doubleclick the Work-field...

It is a bug. No matter what definition one chooses as a working day, it
should not keep increasing :)
