Planner-list Newbie question on task list

I am using Planner for a multi-year project and notice that the Task
disply provides "Start" and "Finish" columns.  When I choose those, I
get the month and day, but not the year, e.g. "Jul 16" but not "Jul 16
2011."  The Gantt chart looks good.

I can't find an option to change the appearance of the columns.  Is
there a way to have it display the year as well as the month and day?
