search is buggy in 1.2.6, remains buggy in 1.2.6.1

Dear Developers,

I've got report that pybliographer doesn't search well after being
upgraded. We are using debian here and the latest version is 1.2.6
Whenever I try to search I get

I decided to try the most recent 1.2.6.1, I packaged it for debian,
installed and then search works, but if I try to sort by some column I
get
