1) Introducing Red Carpet Enterprise

On October 7, 2002, Ximian formally released its newest Linux version
management solution, Red Carpet Enterprise. Red Carpet Enterprise is a
powerful server-based solution that provides customers with centralized
software maintenance and version management for servers and workstations
running a broad range of leading Linux distributions, including Red Hat,
SuSE, Mandrake and Debian.

Deployed entirely behind the corporate firewall, Red Carpet Enterprise
lets organizations automatically update software packages on groups of
systems on demand or on preset schedules. Software packages can include
internally developed or customized software, as well as software from
Ximian, Linux distribution providers and third-party software vendors.

3) PC Magazine Praises Ximian Desktop

On October 1, 2002, Ximian Desktop received 4-star rating (out of five)
from PC Magazine. Here's a little of what they had to say:

"On the whole, Ximian Desktop is a big step forward in the development
of the Linux desktop. Its features ease the burden of software updates,
allow for intuitive personal information management, and permit the
creation and modification of documents that are reasonably (though not
universally) compatible with Microsoft Office."

4) Amerada Hess Selects Ximian Red Carpet Enterprise

One of the world's largest corporations, Amerada Hess announced that it
has selected Ximian Red Carpet solutions for deploying, maintaining and
updating software on its Linux-based servers and systems. Hess selected
the Red Carpet solutions from Ximian to manage the software packages on
each of its Red Hat Linux workstations and servers, ensuring that new
software updates are installed properly and consistently.

In addition to the latest updates to its customized Red Hat Linux
operating system, Hess deploys its own internally developed software to
its systems. Using Red Carpet, Hess substantially lowered its overall
maintenance costs by eliminating the time, expense and complex processes
previously needed to update systems manually.

"Red Carpet solutions are flexible, and my team can use them to
cost-effectively manage the updates for the wide range of different open
source applications we deploy across all of our Linux systems," said
Jeff Davis, senior systems programmer at Amerada Hess Corporation. "The
range of Red Carpet solutions meets a variety of enterprise needs,
including easy web-based administration, scheduled updating and custom
software distribution. Red Carpet Enterprise provides an enhanced level
of security and control, since it brings the entire Red Carpet service
inside the firewall."
