Ximian Evolution 1.2 offers a host of usability, performance and
interoperability enhancements that complement its advanced email and
information management capabilities to create a friendlier and more
configurable user experience. Ximian Evolution is supported on the
latest version of Linux from Red Hat, Mandrake, SuSE, other leading
Linux distributions and Solaris 8.

Key Improvements include:
        * User customizable settings for default mail, address books, 
          calendar and task folders. 
        
        * Improved email indexing engine to speed mail searches and 
          inbox population. 
        
        * Built-in HTML email signature editor, with support for 
          choosing from multiple signatures.
        
        * One-stop configuration center to manage settings and 
          preferences for everything from the mail composer, fonts, and 
          address books directories to account setup, default folders 
          and calendar options.
        
        * Expanded time-saving keyboard navigation and shortcuts.
        
        * Enhanced auto-completion for addressing emails, including 
          improved performance and support for multiple address books.
        
        * Custom color email labels, fonts and follow-up flags for

XIMIAN CONNECTOR 1.2 FOR MICROSOFT EXCHANGE AVAILABLE NOW
Along with Ximian Evolution, Ximian shipped a new version of Ximian
Connector for Microsoft Exchange, the add-in software that enables
Ximian Evolution to function as a Microsoft Exchange 2000 client. There
are numerous improvements in Connector 1.2 that extend the range of MS
Exchange collaboration capabilities available in Ximian Evolution.

New features include:

        * Support for Public Folders. Create and post replies in Public
          Folders, as well as create and edit calendar entries,contacts,
          tasks and subfolders.

        * Delegation Support. Set permissions to enable other users to 
          view your calendar, inbox, tasks, contacts and private items.

        * Granting and Editing Permissions. View and edit permissions on
          any Exchange folder to which you have access. 
        
        * Direct Resource Booking. Reserve resources such as conference 
          rooms and audio-visual equipment for meetings and 
          appointments. Users can also view schedules for resources when
          scheduling meetings.
        
        * Configurable Default Folders. Choose to use MS Exchange or 
          local Evolution folders as your default for email, address 
          books or calendar.
        
        * Multiple Data Sources for Email Address Auto-Completion.
          Select multiple contact folders to use for automatically 
          completing names when composing email, including the Exchange 
          2000 Global Address List.
