Re: Suspend, screensaver and sawfish issues + Metacity and X

Actually, just to try and figure out what was causing this, I tried
suspending with both sawfish and metacity and initiating suspend when
the screensaver was running and also when it wasn't. While running with
the screensaver would cause a blank screen to come back when I restored,
forcing a xscreensaver kill (which it turns out also killed X and would
get me back to the login screen) suspending just in normal screen mode
would let the system come back but all my windows would be frozen in
place (ie. couldn't drag and move) and scrollbars would act weirdly.
Very, very strange. Logging out would not fix the problem though Killing
X would force a logout but would correct the problem.

I'm beginning to think this is not a gnome2 issue any longer but this
worked fine under RH 7.2 (though I had custom rolled kernels) with
gnome2 and 1.4. Anyone have an idea what might be causing this or how to
correct? I've seen people allude to the same problem with a google
search but no answers on how to fix it...

Post off list unless it really is related to gnome2
thanks!
Daryl
