You don't want to use soup. The SOAP code was never completed and the
generic HTTP code is horribly buggy. We've fixed most of the bugs that
affect our projects at this point, but if you were to try to use it for
something else, you would almost certainly turn up lots of new bugs.

I'm in the process of rewriting a lot of it right now, but that won't be
done for a while.
