I decided on Soup because I didn't find any better alternatives.  If you are
aware of any, let me know.  I found libHTTPd on Freshmeat, but I'm not
fond of their dual-licensing and lack of community development ethic.

The SOAP support isn't important, what I needed was a library with HTTPd
support where I can register handlers and stuff.  I really prefer XML-RPC to
SOAP anyhoo (the SOAP spec will advance deforestation of third world
countries and I doubt anyone's implementations will ever be perfectly 
interoperable).

Me help code.  So long as there are no objections to my requirements 
(generic HTTPd support and XML-RPC support).  I haven't really contributed
to free software in a couple years now and I'm getting low on karma.

You have any sort of road map doc?  Are you rewriting in CVS or offline?
Tell me what you need and I'll start mailin' patches.
