evolution doesn't play email notification sound

Hi all, I have suse 9.1, evolution1.4.6-16, ximian-connector-1.4.7.2-0.ximian.9.1 and my problem is that evolution doesn't play email notification sounds nor beep when new email arrives. The sound card is ok. I can play the sound files just fine from file manager, xmms and other sound apps. The file I was trying to play in evolution is .ogg file.
