As your goal is to leave those data in a format they can handle, vCard
likely should be sufficient. Even if Outlook doesn't handle it, there
sure are apps and tools for Windows out there which do understand common
formats and vCard in particular.

Since you apparently are running Evolution 1.4.6, the mbox files are
stored under your ~/evolution/local/ directory. In any mail folder you
will only need the 'mbox' named files and can safely drop any indexing
files as well as the other meta files.

Thanks. :)  Actually it's not the first time I get around questions like
this. And it feels quite strange... ;)

However, I do like your attitude to leave the data in a format which
they can understand.
