Runaway gpilotd warning notice 30+ iterations

Hi All, Running Evolution 2.10.0 under kernel 2.6.17-14 P3 512 RAM Once again I am having trouble with Evolution synching with a Palm device. I have edited the /etc/dynamic/scripts/visor.scr file by adding the Vendor Number 0830 and the device Number 0061. The Palm device gets picked up by lsusb thus: [root@localhost andrew]# lsusb Bus 001 Device 002: ID 046d:c03d Logitech, Inc. Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 004 Device 003: ID 0457:0151 Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. Super Flash 1GB Flash Drive Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0830:0061 Palm, Inc. Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 [root@localhost andrew]# This time however I get a runaway warning message from gpilotd but the message is blank (apart from the header). I have let it run to see if it will stop, but it adds another iteration around every second, got to 32 when I lost patience and killed it. Needless to say, no gpilotd - no synch. I struggle to comprehend why Evolution has so much trouble with synching with Palm and yet K-Pilot and J-Pilot do not. In fact out of all pilot synching programs, J-Pilot is the most reliable - works EVERY time. Has anyone else struck this? Any clues, please?
