I have the same problem. I've followed the instructions in outlined in the
bug listed above, but to no avail.

I modified the permissions.easy file and chmodded
/usr/X11R6/bin/xscreensaver. My pam.d/xscreensaver already had the entry
that is recommended.

This is on the environment listed in this thread (SuSE 8.2, XD2)

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
