I've tried that.  If memory serves, it didn't print a whole lot of
anything.  I will try this again tonight and verify.

Where are you looking for complaints? Rather than bring up obtrusive
message boxes, Evolution tends to send messages to stderr when it's
unhappy about something.  In such cases, it's often useful to launch
Evolution from a terminal window rather than a menu, panel launcher,
etc., since stderr is then displayed in the terminal window.
