This would be on SuSE Linux 8.2, with packages from the xd-unstable
channel? It might be worth upgrading to 9.0, for which xd-unstable is
more actively maintained.

I have no idea what to do about mp3 plugins, though.  Because of patent
issues, we can't provide those.
