dd error

I'm getting an error in dd.

Can you help?

I am issuing the command "dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdb bs=1M"

The OS is RedHat 7.2

Apart from taking a very long time to copy, when the process completes and I
try to boot up on the duplicated drive, the boot process halts at the point of
reading the /proc filesystem.

I suspect this may be related to the ext3 file system.

The same command on RedHat 7.0 does not product this error.
Can you help?
