It does, indeed.  But now that I re-read your post I saw that I
overlooked a much more important thing:

The problem here is that as of version 3.9 it is only pop3d that
supports TLS when run from inetd.  The same functionality has not been
enabled in imap4d.  That's my oversight.  It's trivial enough to do
so, so I'll post a patch to that effect today.
