I can understand that you don't want to support anything Microsoft obviously doesn't want to support (it's hard enough to support what they support). But that's from the (narrow) perspective of building an alternative Win32 application development environment (i.e. supporting the published Win32 API). When you're implementing alternatives for Win32 platform libraries, like Wine and ReactOS are doing it's a different matter. But I agree those are no 'ordinary users'.
