Does that also apply to Linux / MacOS, or only on Windows?
What was the original thought at the time for maybe disabling it in the GUI?
No idea if it is a big loss. On my Win10 PCs I see a vertical scrollbar both
in the GUI and in the CLI, so as far as pager-less (no pun intended)
functionality goes there's not much difference. But after a long session it
can be harder to scroll just a few screens back.
I remember that I used the pager especially for scrolling function help texts.
These days they can more easily be read in the doc browser (also callable
from the CLI); more and more packages have Qt help texts as well.
Hopefully in the new-to-come terminal pane the pager can be revived, if it is
still deemed to be useful there.
