Sure, I think I got it down the way you were suggesting. Maybe I misunderstood
something, let me know.
P.S: There is a line under case "MAT_FILE_SPARSE_CLASS" where
"read_mat5_integer_data" is called directly. I didn't consider that and just
commented it out (not part of the patch)
