The main point of the new terminal widget is that it will no longer depend on
a shell. Instead, it should be entirely implemented using Qt.
That necessarily means that interactive shell programs will no longer work
inside the new terminal widget. (That includes, e.g., `less`.)
When we evaluated that, we decided that this shouldn't block the new terminal
widget implementation. (After all, it is possible to scroll in the GUI.)
That means: The pager cannot work in principle in the new terminal widget (at
least not by deferring to programs like `less`).
The proposed change disables the pager only in the GUI and only on Windows.
The pager will be disabled on all platforms (only in the GUI) once the new
terminal widget is more mature. But that is unrelated to the proposed patch
for this report.
