I did the whole build/install process per your instructions and it worked -
documentation was there.
However, this is almost exactly how I do my octave installation. Thus the
question remains, why did I have the problem in my earlier install?
I think I found the answer.
When I originally built octave, after the "make" step and before "make
install", I used the "./run-octave" option for testing, as suggested by the
build process:
Octave successfully built. Now choose from the following:
./run-octave - to run in place to test before installing
So, I did a "./run-octave --gui".
This created an empty file "doc/interpreter/octave_interpreter.qhc". I
double-checked this today, after building with your instructions.
After this, "make install" copies the empty file to the install location and
spoils the documentation installation.
