Follow-up Comment #2, bug #68437 (group octave):

Chromebrew is an overlay distribution on top of ChromeOS, so all of our files
are under /usr/local, and our PATH during build points to /usr/local/bin
first.

The minimal system that comes with ChroemOS does not have TeX installed.
