Actually, I did so. To no avail.

It doesn't. In my every day setup ~/.bash_profile sources ~/.bashrc,
but not the other way.

I used 'shell /bin/bash' in ~/.screenrc for now.

Sorry, my fault. I tried it with an empty ~/.bashrc and only screen -dR
in ~/.bash_profile. Nothing more, so, nothing to guess.

Could you please be a little bit more specific? Do you hint at the -s
flag? Seems to cause the same as shell in ~/.screenrc. In fact both
should default to $SHELL, which is /bin/bash during ~/.bash_profile.
Even more curious, why screen is calling a login shell. I can reproduce
that sourcing only if I set shell -/bin/bash. Maybe the default changed
to -$SHELL? I am unable to reveal anything like this from the code.

Oh, damn, thank you. I mixed list and subscribe for a couple of
lists... let's see, if it's okay now.

Most recent in debian stable, AFAICS.

Thank you for the hints,
 regards, Frank.
