Newbie questions

I just started using screen recently, and I have a few questions about
it.

1. It appears that the DISPLAY variable gets messed up when I detach
   my screen window at work, re-attach it at home, and then
   detach/re-attach it once more at work.  After doing this, X-apps no
   longer show (they don't crash either; I assume the are being sent
   to never-never land).

   One further complication is that at work I access my Linux account
   (the one in which I run screen) through a Windows2000 workstation +
   PuTTY + an Exceed X server.  (Exceed may be part of this problem.)

   Does anybody know how can I straighten out the DISPLAY?

2. If I don't use screen, running along the very top of my terminal
   window is the window's title (the host's name), but when I start
   screen, this window title disappears.  When minimized, the tab
   corresponding to this window now shows the label "? ? ?".  What can
   I do to preserve this window title?

3. In the screen man page, in a table that appears in the section
   called "THE VIRTUAL TERMINAL", the abbreviations Pn, Pcs, and Ps
   are used repeatedly, but their meanings are not given anywhere.
   What do they mean?
