thanks.  i'm fetching this now.  once upon a time alpha used to
have an rsync share pointing at the alpha stuff.  that doesn't
appear to exist anymore - any chance of getting it back ? i used
to maintain a semi periodic snapshot of alpha stuff for local
downloads here..

also, doh, it's in bz2 format instead of gz.. off to now fetch
bzip2 source..
