things started getting ugly

I've been using for months chromium with dmx to run a 3x3 wall ( Dual
Opteron, Nvidia Quadrofx3000, GigE, RHEL4U3). The main app we run on
top is VMD. Out of the blue I started getting the following error:
[stliston@skylinearch bin]# *** glibc detected *** malloc(): memory
corruption: 0x0000000000dedf20 ***
Window manager warning: Lost connection to the display ':1';
most likely the X server was shut down or you killed/destroyed
the window manager.
I have no idea what I did to cause this. I ran memtest86+ to make sure
the system memory was sane. It was fine.
In an attempt to fix it I rebuild dmx and then rebuild chromium against
those new headers and libraries, but to no avail.
Here's the series of events:
dmx starts successfully,
the mothership gets going,
crservers are started on all the backend nodes,
vmd starts up, but before the handshake between the mothership and
the backend crservers can take place dmx crashes and I get "the error".
I realize this post maybe more appropriate for the dmx mailing list.
But since Chromium is involve I thought I wouldn't hurt to get your
insight. I will post it with dmx too.
Thank you,
Sam
